Elements | Points of Converstion

YIELDING

Setup: A fountain with flowing water and a tray of smooth stones on a side table, a box with sand. Other elements have been added and will continue to be added this year.

Instruction: There may be something you need to be forgiven from, or someone you need to forgive. Release a rock into the fountain. This represents the “letting go" of areas in your life allowing Christ to cleanse you and trust these areas to Him. Write your sin or struggle in the sand and then wipe it away. In the same way, Christ wants to wipe away anything that distracts you from Him.

"How much more, then, will the blood of Christ who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God." Hebrews 9:14

"Repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." Acts 3:19

PRAYING

Setup: A table with several blank page journals, slips of paper for prayer requests, and ink pens. A couple of large lit candles and several unlit tea light candles. A magnetic message board, and other elements to be added this year.

Instruction: God loves to be in conversation with His kids. Take a journal; pour out your heart to God. He is always listening for you. Read and share the prayers of others. Light a candle and pray for a family member, a friend, or a situation. Allow God to speak to you; Cry Out to Him like never before.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God." Philippians 4:6

EXPRESSING

Setup: Several blank canvases, sketchbooks, paint, colored pencils, several lumps of clay.

Instruction: Sometimes it’s hard to put our thoughts and feelings into words. Open your heart as you paint or draw. It’s not about art; it’s about connecting with God. Allow Him to speak through expression here. Take the clay and begin to mold whatever God lays on your heart. Worship God through creating a sculpture. Think about how He molds you everyday.

"Oh Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the Potter; we are all the work of Your hand." Isaiah 64:8

PARTAKING

Setup: The elements for communion. A sign that says PLEASE READ and the scripture from 1 Cor. 11:27-32.

Instruction: Partake in remembering Jesus’ sacrifice for us. Take the bread, dip it in the juice. This is His body and blood that He poured out for us. Thank Him and allow Him to speak to you. Remember!

"This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 1 Corinthians 11:24
